Lucas Rosier signs his first professional contract

Stade Rennais F.C. have placed their trust in a new player from the 2007 generation. Following on from Yaël Thebault and Mohamed Kader Meïté in November, striker Lucas Rosier has signed his first professional contract with the Rouge et Noir, running until 2028.

Born on 12 March 2007, Lucas Rosier came up through the ranks at Stade Lamentinois, a partner club of the Académie Rouge et Noir, following in the footsteps of Jeanuël Belocian, a defender with Bayer Leverkusen and a former member of the academy.

The winger made the move to Brittany in 2022, establishing himself in the youth teams of Stade Rennais F.C. The French U18 international (3 caps), who has already played 20 games for the Espoirs, is one of those players who can make the difference in the opposition half thanks to his percussive qualities.

Stade Rennais F.C. is delighted to announce that Lucas has signed his first professional contract, and would like to thank his coaches and the Stade Lamentinois.

Lucas Rosier :
« This first professional contract comes after many years of work. I'm very proud of it. I'd like to thank the club for their confidence in me. My family travelled all the way from Guadeloupe to see me sign. It was really important to me. They've been with me since I was a kid, and they travel a lot to come and see me here in Rennes. I'd like to thank them for everything they've done for me. I've achieved my first objective. Now I want to contribute even more to the club, to my team and, why not one day, join the Stade Rennais first team and get the Roazhon Park crowds roaring. »

Denis Arnaud, Directeur de l’Académie :
« This is a real reward for Lucas. His career began at a very early age, 8,000 km from here, with a partnership with Stade Lamentinois in Guadeloupe. It's also a reward for the club and the coaches who have managed to support this type of player. Lucas is a wide player who can play inside. He also has a knack for elimination and dribbling, as well as extraordinary athletic ability and support. That's what makes him so special. Our goal is to see him play at Roazhon Park one day, but it's a long way off. He will need the confidence of the club, a lot of hard work and effort to continue to develop. It will be up to him to knock on the door of the biggest names. »
