All day long on Saturday, the clink of ‘palets’ echoed around Roazhon Park. Early in the morning, 200 doublettes gathered on this atypical surface to indulge in this typical regional pastime. And it wasn't the few raindrops at the end of the day that dampened the general mood, or even the hopes of the last remaining players. Jean-François and his sidekick, members of the Cornillé Palet Club, came out on top in the final, with a score of 15-5: "Playing here as a Stade Rennais supporter is great, the setting is fantastic. It was festive, more unbridled than the usual tournaments, it's cool". It's a passion that, like the Rouge et Noir, keeps them busy every weekend of the year. "It's our passion. Those who are in the last four, we see them every weekend. But this is different, a different atmosphere, a prestigious venue. That's why it's a great title that we've won."
