From Great Britain to Brittany! Since leaving Arsenal's youth academy, Glen Kamara has continued to pursue his passion.  Sierra Leonean by origin, born in Finland—a country for which he has been representing since 2017 (59 caps, 2 goals)—the 28-year-old midfielder earned his starting spot in Scotland with Dundee FC and played consistently for two seasons before being recruited by one of the country's two giants, Rangers FC.

A box-to-box profile, thanks to his ability to play under pressure and his excellent passing quality, he has become a pillar of his team over the seasons. He contributed to the team's championship title in 2021 and Rangers' victory in the Scottish Cup in 2022. It was also in the blue jersey that he reached the Europa League final the same year, which was lost in the penalty shootout against Eintracht Frankfurt.

I hope my experience will help make this the best season possible.

His endurance is also worth highlighting, demonstrated by his consecutive appearances last season with Leeds United, a bit further south. The EFL Championship is a particularly dense division with 24 clubs, totaling 46 matches in the season, 42 of which Glen participated in (including the league, playoffs, and cup competitions).

"New league! New challenge!" With these words, the Finnish international described his mindset. "I had very good initial contacts with the executive. I'm here because the club has big ambition. I know it has built itself up notably through the development of great players; it's a talent factory. I hope my experience will help make this the best season possible. I see that Stade Rennais F.C. has many assets to succeed."

Frederic Massara, Sporting Director of Stade Rennais F.C.:

"It is great pleasure to welcome Glen to Rennes. He was one of the profiles identified to strengthen the squad. He has solid experience at the highest level and in international competitions. His maturity will only benefit the team, as will his dynamic and physical qualities, which fit very well with our midfield."

Olivier Cloarec, Executive President – General Director of Stade Rennais F.C.:

"Glen Kamara represented a great reinforcement opportunity that we have been exploring for several weeks already. At 28 years old, he has gained a lot of experience and maturity in clubs with high competition, and he has played more than 50 matches in European competitions. With his arrival, we have even more quality in this area of the field."
