Cameroon and Christopher Wooh go from strength to strength

With their 3-0 win over Mauritius followed by a 1-1 draw with Libya, Cameroon are now top of their group for the World Cup qualifiers. Christopher Wooh played the entirety of both matches, first in a 3-man defence at the Japoma stadium and then in a 4-man system at the back in Benina.

Geoffrey Lembet was on the bench for both matches with the Central African Republic. His team lost 4-2 to the Comoros before drawing 1-1 in Bamako.

 

French teams

The French U23 team lost 2-0 in Austria before going down 3-0 to South Korea. Jeanuël Belocian and Arnaud Kalimuendo started both matches.

In their double-header with Belgium, France U20 first won 1-0 before drawing 2-2. Goalkeeper Yann Batola did not play.

Bernard Diomède's French team played three matches in the first qualifying round for Euro U19. Victories over Estonia (2-0) and Iceland (1-1), followed by defeat to Denmark (1-2). Jérémy Jacquet and Désiré Doué started all the matches, with the defender as captain. Both Rennes players scored in the first victory.

 

Fabian Rieder distinguishes himself

Fabian Rieder was at his best with the Swiss U21 team. The Rennes player played an active role in the 5-0 win over Armenia, scoring twice from the penalty spot and providing two assists. He then started against Romania. The Swiss drew 2-2 and remain top of their Euro qualifying group, one point ahead of Romania.

After losing 3-0 to Denmark, Morocco U23 won 1-0 against the USA. Ibrahim Salah started the first match, Mohamed Jaouab the second.

Guéla Doué started the friendly against Iraq. Cote d'Ivoire U23 won 4-0.

 

Algeria not trembling

Algeria beat Somalia (3-1) and then Mozambique (2-0). Amine Gouiri started both matches.

Turkey won in Germany, 3-2, before drawing with Wales, 1-1. Bertuğ Yildirim did not play.

Arthur Theate started against Serbia and then Azerbaijan. Victories of 1-0 and 5-0. Belgium have officially confirmed their ticket for the Euros.
