Jacques Delanoë is leaving the Board of Directors of Stade Rennais F.C. after twelve years of loyal service, including seven years as Executive Chair. He has been replaced by Alban Gréget.
During this period, the club reached a milestone in sporting terms by winning the Coupe de France in 2019 and taking part in European cups for six consecutive years, including the Champion's League in 2020.
The club's ties with its supporters and the region have grown steadily, with Roazhon Park now attracting more than 600,000 spectators per season. Jacques Delanoë created the Galerie des Légendes, which receives more than 10,000 visitors per year. He was also at the origin of the statue of Jean Prouff, installed for the 120th anniversary of the club.
Jacques Delanoë will shortly be taking over the chairmanship of SRFC's future endowment fund.
The Board of Directors will now be chaired by Alban Gréget, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Artémis, a company owned by the Pinault family, and a member of the Board of Directors of Stade Rennais F.C. since 2018.
As part of this change of governance, three new members will also join the Board of Directors: Olivier Cloarec, Executive Chair and Managing Director of Stade Rennais F.C., Louis Roger-Boutbien and Pierre Tronson (as censor), grandsons of François Pinault.
Reactions :
François-Henri Pinault :
« Jacques has been an invaluable link for me and an important support for the club's directors over the last few years. I would like to thank him most warmly for that. This handover to the Board of Directors comes at a time when Stade Rennais F.C. is progressing and making major investments to promote its long-term development and, through the club, the influence of our town and region. »
Jacques Delanoë :
« I would like to sincerely thank the Pinault family for their trust, and it has been an honour for me to be at their side for all these years. I will not forget all the employees and fans of Stade Rennais F.C. who give us their support and energy every day. At a time when the new Piverdière centre is being built and other major projects are being studied, the club has all the assets it needs to embrace its future with confidence. »
