Explanations for the defeat

"We were frustrated in this game, against a low Auxerre block. We couldn't find any solutions. I think we started well but then got into a false rhythm. Maybe we were affected by the heat in the first half because I think we lacked pace. They stayed in their game, while we got frustrated and rushed. We'll have to analyse this defeat. I'm not satisfied.

Any relapse after the SCO game?

"It's not been a good run (three defeats to one win). This match was important to put us back in the top half of the table. We lacked consistency, even though we started well, with two early chances in particular. Auxerre ensured that the tempo dropped, with long balls that prevented us from pressing. Then we made a few mistakes. It never really clicked today. It's also my fault for not being able to find solutions.

We're not there yet

"We had to be aware of the reality of the league table before this game. Auxerre were direct rivals and within our reach if we won. But we can't forget what league we're in and what our main objective is. We had to get on with it and that's exactly the problem: we can't do it, we can't capitalise on the confidence gained after a good result. Nothing worked today, whether it was the system or the changes.

A growing frustration during the match

"It's hard to be in the opposition half and constantly banging into a wall. We also lacked quality in the last 25 metres. We looked for solutions, tried to change things, but we weren't successful and lacked realism when it came to finishing. We're going to have to keep working and go and win at Le Havre.
