A collective force
Monaco have opted for continuity for the new season. The only notable departure is Wissam Ben Yedder, who scored 16 Ligue 1 goals last season, and has been replaced by young George Ilenikhena in a squad that has remained largely stable. With a Champions League campaign underway, AS Monaco have a rich squad that coach Adi Hütter has skilfully managed to get the best out of. By alternating systems (4-2-3-1 and 4-4-2) since the start of the season and never fielding the same eleven twice, the Austrian coach has managed to involve the entire dressing room while achieving excellent results.
Not just one danger
With a full-strength squad, Monaco's threat can come from anywhere, not just one man. After 6 games, 4 players have scored 2 goals (D.Zakaria, E.Ben Seghir, F.Balogun and L.Camara). Monaco have also shown their defensive solidity by conceding just 3 goals, all at home.
A great start to the season
After a hard-fought victory over Montpellier, which also showed the selflessness of this team, Monaco had not started a championship with so many points after 6 rounds for 64 years (16 points - 5V, 1N). And if we look further back, AS Monaco have suffered just one defeat in their last 20 official matches. That was at Lyon on 28 April.
Back in the Champions League, AS Monaco have also made a good start to their campaign. After a fine 2-1 win over Barcelona, who were reduced to 10 men at the start of the game, the Monegasques shared the points at Dinamo Zagreb (2-2).
