Group update
Alidu Seidu is suspended. Mikayil Faye has not trained all week, but resumed this morning. As did Henrik Meister. Andrés Gómez picked up a knock in training two days ago and did not take part in today's session. We'll have an update tomorrow.
Problems in attack
We certainly need to improve in the last 30 metres to create more danger. We're working hard on that. We put a lot of players in situations. I hope we can get some positive signals soon. There are two reasons for this: we need to learn more about each other as we go along, and we need to be clear-headed and technically correct so that we can validate existing situations.
The importance of victory
When you start a week after winning a match, you don't have a headache. And that changes a lot of things. Now we know that we're at the start of a process and we're not going to boast about having won the match against Le Havre. Our main objective is to continue working and improving so that we can have more control and collective certainty. The win gave the group a bit more confidence. And confidence is a key element in performance.
The opponent
This is a team that has managed to get some convincing results at home. Our aim will be to do better than teams like Nice, Reims or Brest who lost there. Only Monaco won, so that shows that Auxerre can do some very good things at home. They're not an easy team to play against, sometimes pressing, sometimes repositioning themselves a little lower, with a very compact block that's good at transitions. They also have an athletic presence in the box. In any case, this is a team that has shown quality since the start of the season.
Adrien Truffert's start to the season
First of all, he was given a release during the summer transfer window. In the end, there was no release and, to our great delight, Adrien is still with us. His preparation was special in that it took place outside the group (editor's note: with the French Olympic team). He came back with a lot of motivation and desire. I don't think he managed to find his feet when we switched to a 3-man defence, even though this system could have suited his ability to run the length of the pitch. The 4-man system is certainly the one with which Adrien has more certainty. I'm sure we'll see him step up a gear in the games to come.

The week after Le Havre
The week went pretty well. After a win, it's always easier to go to training. We're gaining confidence. We drew at Brest and won against Le Havre, so we need to keep that momentum going and try to keep it going, starting with this weekend.
The whistles after the match
We understand the criticism. We know we have to do a lot better in what we offer. I know that the fans still support us, but they wanted to show their displeasure.
The team's game
We're clear-headed and we know that the football we're playing at the moment isn't necessarily what we've been able to produce in recent years. There are periods like that. But what's certain is that we're working really hard every day to try and perform as well as we can and keep winning games.
His difficulties in a 3-man system
It's true that the 3-defender system may be the one that best suits my qualities, but I haven't had the chance to develop much in that system. Even though as a professional you're obliged to adapt, and that's what I've tried to do as much as possible, I simply find it much easier to get my bearings in a 4-man system. After that, I know I should be doing a lot better. I'm not here to make excuses.
His partnership with Jota
It's going well. We're getting on well. We need to build up our automatisms as much as possible in training. The fact that he goes down low allows me to go up, and it's these reversals of positions that can be surprising. We're going to get to know each other, our qualities and our preferences, so that we can create combinations together.
The desire to defend the red and black jersey
I've been with the club for 10 years. I was trained here and I'm very attached to the club. And whatever happens, I'll always want to fight for the colours of Stade Rennais.
Christophe Pélissier, AJA coach
« We're up against a team that's destined for the top of the table in terms of the individuals in it. They're a very high-level team. We're going to have to show an enormous amount of energy and a very sharp sense of teamwork and organisation. We know we're going to have a Rennes team that's coming to show its qualities and win the match, because they need to climb the table. »
